There are many benefits for you if your faction is able to gain control of a territory or fort. One being your cost for workshops and fast travel are cheaper. It is even more beneficial for your faction to be in control of multiple territories as the more territories owned by your factions, the more effective your attacks are on enemies, the more resources you gather, the better in quality your crafting will be, and the better your RNG when looting.
Additional benefits include linked storage between owned settlements and resource carts available in the settlements for the controlling faction which gives crafting materials. It’s important to note that taxes for the territory must be paid in order to reap these benefits.

Faction Control Points
Each region has a fort which is a PvP control point. This point generates both territory rewards and larger rewards for the faction that controls it. You can check which faction is controlling (as well as contesting) a fort by checking your world map. If the Territory is uncontrolled you can claim it by paying the claim fee at the Territory’s Fort.
Participating in a Forts control point
Before entering a fort, you must flag yourself for PvP. Each fort has a point of control that players fight over to own. You must capture this point by having more players of your faction in the control point than players from another faction. Once your faction has more players, the control points are slowly captured however, the more players you have in the point, the faster it is captured.
Before you think you can sneakily take a fort, the second your faction steps in to contest a fort, the controlling faction gets an alert and attention is drawn upon the fort being contested. Make sure you are prepared for a fight. Forts are not able to be contested right before/after Wars and Invasions.
